Building Group’s Raleigh Office Celebrates Major Safety Milestones at Project Sites in North Carolina and Tennessee
September 7, 2011

The Building Group’s Raleigh-area office proudly celebrated safety milestones at two project sites this past month.

First, the Building Group’s project team for Medicago USA’s Vaccine Research | Production Facility and Greenhouse in Research Triangle Park (N.C.) honored the more than 200 trade workers on site for achieving 100,000 work hours without a lost-time incident. To thank the group for their dedication and commitment to working safely, the Building Group team hosted a barbecue luncheon, and handed out commemorative t-shirts. This $30-plus million design-build project is scheduled for completion in late October. Our design partner, Clark Nexsen, and owner representatives were part of the celebration.

The following week, the project team for the General Mills Yogurt Processing Facility Expansion in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, celebrated 125,000 hours worked without a lost-time incident. This project’s group of 300-plus trade workers enjoyed a catered lunch, and received as a gift of recognition and appreciation — an insulated lunch bag with the Building Group logo. This 200,000-square-foot design-build project is due for completion later this month. Our design partner is AWB Engineering. Representatives from AWB and the owner were on hand to help us recognize the workforce for its outstanding safety record.

These milestones continue the Building Group’s long history of outstanding safety records, and exemplify its commitment to safe working environments throughout every phase of construction,” said Frank Holley, Executive Vice President, Building Group. “We look forward to the completion of incident-free projects, both within the Building Group and throughout KBR as a whole.
