BE&K Building Group Offices Generously Donate to Back-to-School Programs
September 8, 2016

BE&K Building Group’s regional offices recently participated in a variety of initiatives to help underprivileged community members prepare for back-to-school.

Our RTP office supported the annual BackPack Buddies food drive administered by Raleigh’s Inter-Faith Food Shuttle. Employees gathered over 250 pounds of food that will provide children in need with healthy weekend meals throughout the school year. At the end of every week, the program provides the children with backpacks containing six balanced meals and two healthy snacks.

Our Greenville office supported the United Way of Greenville County’s annual School Tools Program. United Way provided paper grocery bags with labels indicating middle school or elementary school, as well as boy or girl. Employees donated enough money to fill five bags with $35-$40 of supplies. Every bag was filled in plenty of time for distribution to the young students before the first day of school.

Our Greenville and Charlotte offices also held a food drive for Harvest Hope Food Bank after the organization expressed a critical need for supplies. Employees gave monetary donations and non-perishable food items to help the cause. In total, 82 pounds of food was collected, equal to about 63 meals.
