September 13, 2016

HAECO Americas has selected BE&K Building Group to design-build a new two-bay, wide-body aircraft maintenance hangar at Piedmont Triad International (PTI) Airport located in Greensboro, North Carolina. The 176,000-square-foot facility will be constructed adjacent to existing hangars. Additional facility components will include shops, administrative offices and a support annex totaling 73,000-square-feet. BE&K Building Group’s design partner for the project is BRPH.

“BE&K Building Group’s expertise delivering world-class facilities for global aerospace clients and our familiarity with PTI, coupled with our long-standing relationship and experience with BRPH, will ensure a successful project is delivered for HAECO Americas,” said BE&K Building Group, Senior Vice President, Tim Parker.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held on Monday, August 22. In attendance were HAECO Americas representatives, BE&K Building Group and BRPH team members, City of Greensboro and Guilford County officials, and North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory. The project is expected to bring 500 new jobs to Piedmont Triad International Airport and the surrounding community. Construction is scheduled to begin in October 2016 with completion by the end of 2017.
