BE&K Building Group Offices Generously Donate to Back-to-School Programs
September 19, 2017

Several of BE&K Building Group’s regional offices recently participated in a variety of initiatives to help underprivileged children prepare for back-to-school activities.

The Greenville Office supported the United Way of Greenville County’s 18th Annual School Tools supply drive. United Way provided paper bags with labels listing specific grade-level supplies that were in need. Through employee contributions, our team was able to fill five bags of the requested supplies and had enough money left over to provide students with additional supplies. Through United Way’s program, 4,000 bags were given to Greenville County students in need.

Charlotte Office employees collected school supplies through their 2nd Annual “School Tools” Program for a family they have adopted through Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools’ Myers Park High School. Notebook paper, book bags, composition books, pencils and the like were generously donated to offset school supply expenses for the local family that has six children attending public school in Grades 6 – 12. Presently, our team is providing Construction Management at Risk services for Myers Park High School’s Science Building project due to complete in January 2018.

The Houston Office participated in the YMCA’s 13th Annual Operation Backpack, one of Texas’ largest back-to-school drives. Employees generously donated funds that went toward filling five backpacks with recommended school supplies for underprivileged children in the Greater Houston area. This year’s back-to-school program is expected to reach a record 120,000 students.
