HAECO Americas Hangar Project Tops Out
September 21, 2017

Our team celebrated the topping-out of HAECO Americas’ two-bay wide-body aircraft maintenance hangar in Greensboro, North Carolina, on August 24, 2017. HAECO attendees included Chad Schrempp, Vice President of Corporate Development; Bruce Bonney, Manager of Facilities; and Curtis Wood, Facilities Supervisor. BE&K Building Group was represented by Mac Carpenter, Steve Olson, Tim Parker, Greg Blinston, and Steve McGrey.

The 238,000 sf facility is being constructed adjacent to an existing wide-body hangar located on the south side of Piedmont Triad International Airport. In addition to the 176,000 sf clear-span hangar, a 62,000 sf support annex will include mechanical, electrical and fire protection equipment rooms; bathrooms; shops; and administrative offices. The scope also incorporates a 28,000 sf concrete apron. Construction began in December 2016 and is scheduled for completion in December 2017.

In addition to the topping-out celebration, the project also recognized 75,000+ work hours to date of incident-free safety performance.
