On Friday, August 26, BE&K’s HSE Director Mark Manos and Assistant Safety Manager Chris Crosby accepted South Carolina’s Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation (LLR) Palmetto Shining Star Award. To qualify for this award, employers must meet at least one of the following criteria:
— No recordable injuries or illnesses during calendar year 2021.
— A reduction of at least 40% in the employer’s incidence rate between 2020 and 2021.
— A difference of at least 75% in the employer’s 2021 incidence rate and the 2020 South Carolina average rate for that industry.
— Worked one million or more safe work hours without a lost-time injury or illness.
