Built on a 30-acre site along the I-85 corridor near the North Carolina / South Carolina border, Duke Energy’s Generation Group uses this facility for training contractors and new hires for maintenance operations in its power generation plants. It also serves as a venue for regional meetings. The LEED Silver facility includes classroom space, computer labs, and auditoriums, as well as space for hands-on equipment training and proficiency testing. Mezzanine-level office space on the south side of the building houses instructors and support personnel. Surface parking is for approximately 850 vehicles with provisions for future expansion.
