Medicine Pavilion and Cancer Center

Duke Health’s new 680,000 sf Medicine Pavilion is built with eight floors housing 18 new operating rooms, iMRI and iCT surgical suites, 96 critical care beds, 64 intermediate beds, 48 isolation rooms, 15 imaging suites, an endoscopy/GI suite, a rapid response lab, along with additional facility scope and services. A new seven-floor, 270,000 sf Cancer Center was also provided which houses all cancer programs including radiation oncology, diagnostic treatment, 125 multidisciplinary exam rooms, 75 infusion stations, 25 clinic rooms, 3 linear accelerators, 9 CT scanners, a retail pharmacy and an infusion pharmacy. Other features include, but are not limited to, a rooftop garden terrace, café, boutique, patient resource center, and a quiet room. Several enabling projects included a South Concourse addition, a North Concourse 8-story corridor connection to the existing hospital, and an Open Space package consisting of site utilities, storm water upgrades, and major landscaping.
