Novartis Vaccines and Diagnostics

This facility is the architectural focal point of the campus. The three-story building serves as the central processing facility for both quality control laboratory and administrative functions for local campus operations. Approximately half of the building’s square footage houses quality control laboratories and associated support areas for the facility. Several of the laboratories are constructed as BSL-2 laboratories — designed to be easily transformed to BSL-3 laboratories. The remainder of the building houses administrative offices and associated support areas including common spaces such as shared entrance, dining, conference, and training areas. The focal point of the facility’s two-story central interactive area is a metal spiral staircase adorned with architectural glass rails and beech wood treads.

One of the things Novartis has appreciated most has been the timely updates and effective communications between BE&K Building Group and our organization. Your team worked closely with our contracted AE team, provided a comprehensive and ongoing review, and was able to identify some design inconsistencies before they impacted our schedule or budget. The suggestions and insight BE&K provided helped identify solutions that were effective and met our design needs.
