Novo Nordisk’s most recent Oral Solid-Dose Manufacturing plant is situated on a 51-acre site and is comprised of two floors, the first being approximately 128,000 sf and the second being approximately 60,000 sf. Production areas feature clean room spaces. Approximately 46,000 sf of the building houses administrative offices, laboratories, and associated support areas such as dining, conference, and training areas. Mechanical equipment is located inside the facility. No rooftop equipment was installed. Fifteen years prior, BE&K built another state-of-the-art 140,000 sf Solid Dose Manufacturing facility for Novo Nordisk (formally Purdue) in Wilson, North Carolina. That facility included offices, manufacturing and warehouse space, and utility installation. After completing the original facility, BE&K was awarded additional assignments including installation of a solid dosage manufacturing line in an existing facility.
