Seqirus

Building Program

As one of the largest influenza vaccine providers in the world, Seqirus is a major contributor to the prevention of influenza globally and a transcontinental partner in pandemic preparedness. With state-of-the-art production facilities in the U.S., the U.K. and Australia, and leading R&D capabilities, Seqirus utilizes egg, cell and adjuvant technologies to offer a broad portfolio of differentiated influenza vaccines in more than 20 countries around the world. BE&K has been providing Construction Management services at their Holly Springs, North Carolina campus since 2007. Some of our more recent projects for Seqirus are featured below.

Advanced Development and Manufacturing (ADM)
This project was two projects in one and included a new, 37,800 sf, two-story Technical Services Building consisting of conference rooms, support areas, maintenance shop, document control, and support areas. The second project was for Clinical Trial Manufacturing (CTM) and consisted of retrofitting 8,900 sf of existing office space located within Seqirus’ Viral Pilot Plant (VPP). New construction provided clean room production space, lyophilization, and hand-packaging operations.

Fill Finish Expansion Project
The expansion is a standalone two-story building connected to an existing Fill Finish facility and includes two formulation suites, two high-speed PFS filling lines and two automatic inspection and packaging lines with serialization capability. Scope also included two packaging suites, a 2-8 C° cold room, and gowning rooms.

Warehouse Expansion
A 45,000 sf Warehouse Expansion consisting of cGMP ambient and cold storage space. Additional facility conversions, tie-ins, and utility work was included.

  • Service — Construction Management
  • Repeat Client
  • Largest Cell-Based Influenza Vaccine Manufacturing Facility in the World

We had a review with senior HHS officials. They were very complimentary on the project’s delivery. They said there aren’t many companies (Seqirus) that can build and qualify in this timeframe. Of course, your team played a major role and should be proud of this compliment. Thanks to all your staff for their commitment to seeing this project through!
