To accommodate its projected growth in Texas, Triumph made the strategic decision to add a manufacturing facility in Red Oak, near Dallas. Building 1, designed to manufacture wings for aircraft, provided 240,000 sf of manufacturing space with 17,000 sf of attached office area. Building 2 consolidated 4.9 million sf of existing local manufacturing space into a new 810,000 sf facility with a roof height of 58’. At the heart of the facility is a sizable composites fabrication area, assembly hall and paint facility, and personnel support areas. The addition included 13 overhead cranes rated from 1 to 20 tons and associated high performance foundations. Special features of the new facility included a 22,000 sf paint facility and three 60’ long autoclaves. A 50,000 sf Product Development Center (PDC) was added halfway through the project.
