BE&K Building Group’s work with Tyson includes a 17,000 sf pet food processing addition at their Glen Allen, Virginia facility and a 22,000 sf poultry processing expansion at their plant in Sanford, North Carolina. Food Engineering magazine named Tyson Foods’ Henderson, Kentucky 450,000 sf poultry processing facility as a Food Plant of the Year. This award-winning complex included a 320,000 sf broiler processing facility; an 83,000 sf protein conversion facility; live hold sheds; a laboratory; a central utility building for steam, compressed air, hot and chilled water, and ammonia refrigeration; and a truck fueling, wash, and maintenance facility. BE&K also provided for an evisceration project in Corydon, Indiana and a 30,000 sf poultry plant expansion including the installation of a blast freezer tunnel in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina.
