BE&K Building Group Receives Liberty Mutual Gold Safety Award at Texas A&M University-Commerce
On Thursday, December 13, the Texas A&M University-Commerce Nursing and Health Sciences project team was presented with the Liberty Mutual Gold Safety Award. This is the highest level customer safety award given by Liberty Mutual. Since project inception, this project has achieved:
– ZERO DART Incident Rate
– ZERO Lost Time (280,000 total safe work-hours)
– ZERO Workers’ Compensation or General Liability Claims
Jason Scott, Technical Consultant for Liberty Mutual, presented the award to Shane Johns, Senior Safety Manager for BE&K Building Group. Scott stated, “Never has a client won this award with all zeros; zero claims, zero lost time, zero recordables. The project team far surpassed the requirements to attain this award. This is an outstanding achievement for BE&K Building Group.”
In attendance were Texas A&M University-Commerce representatives, BE&K Building Group project team members, and various project subcontractors. Shane Johns shared, “None of this could be possible without the leadership, professionalism, and teamwork from each individual and subcontractor working on this project on a day-to-day basis. This team’s hard work has successfully built a lasting safety culture for all those involved.”
