BE&K Building Group Project Team Recognized for Outstanding Safety Performance
On March 21st, 2018, Liberty Mutual Insurance Company recognized BE&K Building Group’s project team on the Texas A&M University-McAllen Higher Education Center Project in McAllen, Texas for Outstanding Safety Performance. The project team recently logged more than 240,000 work-hours with no time lost for injuries or incidents.
Achieving this impressive goal required overcoming hurdles and produced an additional silver lining. According to Carey George, the project’s General Superintendent,
In order to ensure every subcontractor on the project achieved our required safety performance, we implemented a site safety mitigation plan. Having done so, we set a precedent for subcontractors helping to elevate their overall project safety performance. This was a total team effort, including BE&K Building Group, the subcontractors, and their employees. Every participant on the project now understands the ‘WHY I (WE) WORK SAFE’ site motto — To go home every day and hug those we love. A tip of the hat to the McAllen team for not just meeting, but exceeding our safety goals. Great job!
