BE&K’s Next Generation Leadership (NGL) program recently wrapped up its inaugural program — Class of 2020 — with an exciting day and a half of personal leadership testimonials, capstone presentations, and a community service project.
Over the course of the last 13 months, the NGL team met in person four times, in addition to many conference calls, to develop and refine their personal leadership skills. Initiatives and goals included:
— Gain greater working knowledge of BE&K’s business.
— Network, learn from, and build relationships with BE&K leadership and their peers.
— Learn about exceptional leader characteristics and skills through two leadership books.
— Explore and develop their personal leadership styles.
— Participate in various group team activities to better demonstrate the behaviors of effective leadership.
— Develop and present a business case for potential improvement to BE&K Leadership (i.e. capstone presentations).
— Present their personal and professional leadership vision statements to the NGL team.
— Giving Back to a local community by building bikes for the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club.

I am extremely proud of our 2020 NGL members. They have all worked hard developing and furthering their personal leadership skills, in addition to spending many additional hours to propose business solutions for BE&K. Each of these individuals brought forth great recommendations for improvements. It was wonderful seeing their enthusiasm toward making our company better.

Leadership will continue to work with our 2020 NGL Class to further develop their leadership skills. The company plans to begin the next NGL Class in January 2021!
